Have you ever been driving round the countryside and noticed how many place names are used as surnames (Houston, Newbigging, Blackadder are all real places).
I've now started to collect a series of 'stage names' from road signs.
Here's 2 from the Dundee and Fife area.
Off the road between Dundee and Perth - my Country name - Errol Rait.
Between Glenrothes and Freuchie - my Glam-rock name - Star Kennoway.
Looking out for more as I travel around.

Past the First Post!
So this is Blogging, then!
I'm not sure quite what will happen with this, but I've wanted to try it out for a while so let's see how it goes.
I'm a middle-aged bloke who likes blues, fishing and has to work for a living. I've got a partner and a small son. The things I have to say are not important, or earth-shattering, or even particularly profound. My writing style is undeveloped, and I have no pretentions to be anything other than that which I am - a middle-aged bloke who likes blues, fishing and has to work for a living. Oh, by the way, I'm Scottish.
Actually, being Scottish doesn't matter too much generally, but on a day like today - after England have been bumped out of Euro-whatever the year will be, it's not too bad. I have no problems with the many English people I know (some of my best friends are English), but I do get very fed up with the Anglo-centrism of the Beeb in London (I listen to Radio 4 and occassionaly suffer from Humphries-rage in the morning!!)
I hope somebody reads this - it could be a very futile exercise otherwise. Going to see what it all looks like now :)
